When Zhou, Yu-Jie was she was born the doctors noticed that she had a heart murmur. She was later diagnosed with ventricular septal defect. Her parents were devastated and didn't know what because they couldn't afford the surgery needed for her. Over the course of the year, her dad worked hard and they tried to save the money need for the surgery, but as time went on Yu-Jie got worse. The hospital told them about the Greater China Children's Heart Fund (GCCHF) helping families pay for the cost of the surgeries.
Thanks to GCCHF, Yu-Jie was able to get the corrective surgery she needed and is now healthy and happy. Her parents are grateful to those who helped them through this difficult time of their life.
